Last year I bought this old Italian moped. Before that, I
sold my old Czechoslovakian mopeds Jawa 551 Jawetta and Stadion S22. The main
reson was the terrible quality of replica spare parts.

I plann to use this moped for my short trips around the town
I live in. Problem is, that the countryside around our town is very hilly. So I
tested my Piaggio against one hill which my old Jawetta moped didn´t make. And
Piaggio did it. With problems, but it did it.
The history of Piaggio mopeds is very huge. The prodution
was about 40 years long. I have one of the latest models – Piaggio Grillo. It
has smaller wheels, variator, speed meter and so on. The only disadvantage is
top speed, which is about 36 km/h. My old Czechoslovakian mopeds were faster,
even Batetta (old Slovakian moped) is faster than Piaggio. So I plan to upgrade
to Malossi variator.
Pictures are from my first trip to Sokolí Vrch, which is my
test way. Is nearly 5 km long. The height difference 344 m. I start at the
height of 154 m and finished at 498 m.
